Will Jason Day, Jordan Speith or Rickie Fowler Win the 2016 Masters?

We may get to see one of the most exciting Masters tournaments in recent memory in less than a week. Jason Day is back to playing at the top of his game. Adam Scott has already won twice this year. Phil Mickelson has the lowest scoring average on tour. Rory McIlroy is seeking the career grand slam. Jordan Speith reached 20 under last year. Bubba Watson has won at Augusta the last two even years. I could go on and on.

Three of the best players in the world are Jason Day, Jordan Speith and Rickie Fowler. If I had to rank these three going into Augusta National in 2016 I would rank them similar to their world golf rankings – Day, Speith, Fowler.

In my opinion, Jason Day has a great chance to win at Augusta as he finally broke through at Whistling Straits to win his first major last year and dominated some of tournaments in late 2015 and early 2016. If he can hit is driver straight he is has a great chance of winning the tournament by several strokes.

Jordan Speith always has a chance to win at Augusta because he is so strategic with his game. That said, he needs to putt very well to have a chance. He doesn’t have the distance of Bubba, Dustin Johnson, Rory or Jason Day. If he isn’t brushing in all the 15 and 20 foot putts he may fall behind.

Rickie Fowler still needs to prove he can win a major. He did play extremely well to win The Players Championship last year but he hasn’t been able to put it together on the final day of a major. This makes me think his chances at Augusta are not nearly as good as Jordan and Jason.

Who do you think will win the 2016 Masters? Will it be a past champion? Will it be a first time winner? Will it be an old timer that hasn’t won in years?
