Rory McIlroy Neon Green Nike Vapor Driver

When I tuned into the DP World Tour Championship on the Golf Channel on November 21st the first swing I saw was Rory McIlroy hitting his brand new Neon Green Nike Vapor driver. Here it is:

I didn’t realize that Rory put this in his bag all the way back in September 2014. This is quite the fashion statement and let me tell you that Nike loves neons and florals. I see the newest Nike colors all the time in Chapel Hill as UNC is one of the best selling Nike schools in the country. College students love to try out the newest colors in terms of fashion. Pinks, greens and yellows have become the most popular colors for Nike. Greys and blacks will always be popular but Nike fans love to compliment that with some brighter colors.

Here are a few of the photos I found of Rory with his brand new neon green Nike Vapor driver.

I did a little research to see if the neon green Nike Vapor driver was available to the public. On the Nike website the brand new Nike Vapor irons are available as follows:

  • Nike Vapor Pro Combo Irons – $1099
  • Nike Vapor Pro Irons – $999
  • Nike Vapor Speed Irons – $799

When the Nike Vapor driver becomes available to the public I would imagine it will be $399. You might be able to get it for $299 with a discount at Golfsmith or Golf Galaxy but expect to see the driver for around $400.

UPDATE: Nike has said it will be available on January 30th, 2015 and will be $360 MSRP and $299 street price.

When Tiger Woods first started using the red Nike Covert driver many amateur golfers wanted to buy the latest technology as soon as possible. We don’t know what driver Tiger will be using at 2014 Hero Wold Challenge at Isleworth Golf & Country Club in December but we can guess it will be a unique color of the Nike Vapor driver.
