An Attempt to Hit the White Ball Straight

Eagle #9 – Hasentree #9 352 Yards

It has been way too long since I’ve had an eagle. I went on an eagle binge last July and haven’t had much action since. That changed on Sunday, April 24th, 2016. My favorite golf hole, to play, is Hasentree #9. It is a double fairway downhill par 4 that is very easy for anyone that has a strong inside 150 game. Well, I finally dunked it from the fairway.

Eagle #8 – Hasentree #16 545 Yards

After having five eagles in the month of July 2015 I went on a very cold streak. I did not have an eagle until today, December 9th, 2015. It is amazing how fickle the game of golf is. This eagle was one I definitely did not expect. Hasentree #16 is a 545 yard par 5 from the #2 tees. I was playing with my friend Mark Thomas today which is the only reason we were playing the 2s. I hit a hook drive that only went about 220 and was left in the thick bermuda rough left of the bunker. I could only get an 8 iron on it to advance it back to the fairway.

First Hole in One – Chapel Ridge #12 – 156 Yards

Well, I have been waiting for this day for a very long time. Since taking up the game of golf in March of 2010 I have played hundreds of rounds. In fact, I have probably played more rounds in five years than most play in a lifetime. In the course of my short golf career I have hit dozens of shots that rolled by the hole or were just short of the hole on par 3s. I hit the flag on Torrey Pines North Course #3 and have almost jarred a handful of short par 3s but nothing like today. I will set up the story by showing you a picture of Chapel Ridge Hole #12, a 156 yard par 3:

Eagle #4 – Hasentree #11 402 Yards

Well, it took me almost two years to get my third eagle and my fourth came less than one week later. If you would have asked me any of the holes I was likely to hole out from the fairway on, Hasentree #11 would be one of the lowest on my list, but that is exactly what happened today. Here is how it happened:

Eagle #3 – Hasentree #5 495 Yards

It has been way too long since my last eagle. I went through the entire 2014 golf year without a single eagle. I had plenty of chances but never cashed in. On Saturday, July 4th, 2015 I had my third career eagle on hole #5 at Hasentree Country Club. This is one of my favorite par 5s in North Carolina so it was sweet to finally eagle it.
