Lesson #145 – July 30th, 2020

Today was a fun lesson as Patrick and I discussed the personalities of country club golfers and some of the people I have met in the Triangle. It took my mine off the technicalities of the golf swing and really allowed me to create a great turn and pull in with my lower right side. I have been working hard on getting the right side to pull in while the left side creates the backswing.

I hit some unbelievable shots while talking to Patrick. I did notice he started to play with my hands at the top of the backswing and just after impact but I am not going to think about this at all because I know every time I start to think about my hand or arm positions, I shorten my backswing and focus on things that don’t matter nearly as much as the turn.

I am off to Park City to see Jodi and the boys this weekend so I won’t touch a golf club for five days. It is probably best to not touch a club as I was hitting some of the best shots of my life during this lesson. I will try to get some stretching in while in Park City but I am definitely not going to hit golf balls.

UPDATE: The trip to Park City was my first since Covid started. It was nice to get away and enjoy Park City during the summer. I did not touch a golf club that entire week.
