Just north of Asheville, in Burnsville, North Carolina is Mountain Air Country Club. Technically Mountain Air is in Burnsville, but it is really its own mountain community. Unlike some courses in the Asheville area, Mountain Air is a true mountain course at 4600 feet. Note that this is Mountain Air in Burnsville and not Mountain Aire in West Jefferson near Boone. Mountain Air Country Club membership Initiation fees and Monthly Dues are as follows:

• Full Golf Membership – $50,000 Initiation Fee with $1279 Monthly Dues
• Associate Golf Membership (Golf 10 Times a year) – $50,000 Initiation Fee with $951 Monthly Dues
• Executive Golf Membership (under age 50) – $50,000 Initiation Fee with $1279 Monthly Dues
• National Golf Membership – $5000 Initiation Fee with $1920 Quarterly Dues

If you don’t want to commit to a full membership, you can do a two or three month trial in which you are basically a member for a two or three month period minus competing in golf tournaments. This is a great idea for someone that wants to spend a summer in the cooler weather. The rates are as follows:
