Lesson #304 – July 27th, 2021

We are continuing the work with the club face staying low to the ground as long as possible. I put in some time last night practicing this and it paid off today. I am doing much better and it shows with my left side creating the backswing. I still allow my head to fall to the left but that is something we can work on over time.

For most of the lesson Patrick was getting me to keep the club face low and turn with the right side. I actually felt today was a great success as I could feel the times in which I lifted with my arms. I could take my arms out and “turn, turn, turn” with my upper thoracic and immediately hit the ball better. This is the first time I can say in quite some time that I can actually improve ball striking with practice swings.

There really wasn’t a major fault tha Patrick was trying to fix today. It was working on the take away and keeping the club face low. We are still only doing three quarters backswings but after watching a view of myself that Patrick did, I am basically doing a full shoulder turn already. I cannot imagine how deep I can get if we go to the full backswing.

A few more lessons and then I am off to Park City, Utah again.
