Lesson #314 – August 25th, 2021

After a weekend and a few days in Tampa visiting Jason and trying to find a Crumbl location, I have swimmer’s ear. It is extremely frustrating and painful as it feels like my ear wants to pop but won’t. Initially, it was just an inconvenience but now the pain can be unbearable at times. It is definitely some of the most intense pain I have ever felt. That said, I still wanted to get a lesson in with Patrick as it had been awhile.

Even though I couldn’t hear out of my right ear and there was some pain, I did a great job of getting my right side through the ball. In fact, this has been the best I have gotten my right side through ever. We joked during the lesson that I need to just stuff my right ear with cotton balls any time I want to improve my ball striking.

We have not added much but Patrick is pushing the back side of my right lat through impact, after my navel takes over halfway down on the swing. Patrick was happy with my overall backswing and transition as putting 60% of my weight on my left foot after the take away has helped quite a bit. Even though my ear is in terrible shape, my golf game has gotten much better.
